is it that hard i just want to know where is the config file which is responsable for telling kmess that konqueror is my browser so i can change it to phoenix

Well I don't use kmess so I wouldn't know but here is some places you could look to find out.

First of all you should read the man pages or the documentation of kmess. If it is a decent app then it should have a setting to set the default browser.
I assume because the app name starts with a k that it is a kde app. So you might want to check if there is a system wide setting for the default browser in KDE. Again I don't use KDE so I wouldn't know.
Some older apps (in my opinion broken apps) assume that the default browser is netscape. Therefore /usr/X11R6/bin/netscape is often a link to the real browser.
There are also other apps that rely on the BROWSER environment variable to point to the right location.

The easiest and most reliable way would be to look into the source code of kmess and find out how the browser is determined.

did you try changing the default web browser in the KDE control panel?

safrout 04-11-2003 09:16 AM

i can't find any option which make me change the default browser
i am still searching

BruceCadieux 04-11-2003 09:37 AM

KDE Control Center, Componants, File associations, text, html. Move your browser of choice to the top of the list.

safrout 04-12-2003 06:35 PM

i got it
iu can do it by configuring konqueror to open html files with phoenix

To BruceCadieux: I have a slightly different problem. I did as you suggested but it did not help. I'm running Evolution. Whenever I click on a link in an email, the URL is accessed via Mozilla. I want Evolution to use Galeon, which is usually already running. Any ideas? Thank you.
