debugging /dev/dsp
Last night I upgraded from Mandrake 9.1 to 9.2.
Everything seemed to work fine, I've been playing CD's, no prob. But it seems there's no way my OSS driver can be used. If I want to play an mp3 file, (or any PCM audio) Yesterday totem would play everything, but now it says: GET CONFIGURATION failed with SK=2h/ASC=3ah/ASCQ=00h XMMS gives me the usual three-step-dialog, (Please check that: ...) And mpg123 tells me it can't open /dev/dsp: device or resource busy. This gives me nothing: [root@localhost] /home/wuck/audio (#) fuser -v /dev/dsp [root@localhost] /home/wuck/audio (#) And this seems to be ok: [root@localhost] /home/wuck/audio (#) lsmod | grep 'sn' snd-pcm-oss 43428 1 snd-mixer-oss 14232 0 [snd-pcm-oss] snd-intel8x0 21124 1 snd-pcm 78692 0 [snd-pcm-oss snd-intel8x0] snd-timer 18276 0 [snd-pcm] snd-ac97-codec 44824 0 [snd-intel8x0] snd-mpu401-uart 4608 0 [snd-intel8x0] snd-rawmidi 17664 0 [snd-mpu401-uart] snd-seq-device 5672 0 [snd-rawmidi] snd 40836 0 [snd-pcm-oss snd-mixer-oss snd-intel8x0 snd-pcm snd-timer snd-ac97-codec snd-mpu401-uart snd-rawmidi snd-seq-device] soundcore 6308 0 [snd] snd-page-alloc 8948 0 [snd-intel8x0 snd-pcm] |
Umm .. I rebooted, and now everything seems to work ...
still: , but at least listening to music ... :) |
