dbPowerAmp-style application

I need a program capable of converting various formats to other formats (at the moment, I want to convert wma to mp3, but there will be different format conversions I need to make).

Can anyone recommend me such a program?

dbPowerAmp's makers claim that it works well under Wine. So you could try that.
