data backup on CD RW or DVD+RW

Hi,

I'm looking for a way to backup my data on a CD RW or DVD+RW. I googled a lot and fing out that I could use cdrecord and dvdrecord to do just that, but I didn't find any script that I could launch via the crontab AND that could check if there's a cd or dvd in my burner. I'd would also like to let my cd or dvd in the burner until it's full, that's mean several days.

Does anyone know where to look or better, have already something like that?

Thanks for any help

Franck
