Maybe I'm missing something- what's the purpose of this?

See the OP. Binders usually are up to no good. Basically you can:
Quote:

If a program needs some libraries, you can bind that program with that libraries, and when someone will run the binded file, the libraries will be automaticaly copied to their destination, and the program will run perfectly.
fsck up your (or have an unsuspecting user try fsck up their) system. And the "real" purpose of such binders:
Quote:

You can bind a "good" file, a simple program with an "evil" script, or program.
* If one would want to run an app statically there's already established and supported applications like ELF Statifier (sourceforge.net/projects/statifier/).

That's nice but LQ is not the place to advertise this kind of usage. Please do not do that again. There's other fora for that kind of stuff.

Per UnSpawn's comment above, I have removed the initial post and closed this.

LQ is not the place to discuss code that has major potential for less than noble uses. If you disagree with this, please do not hesitate to contact me or any other moderator.

thanks
