Cyrus21 and Squirrelmail config issues
 
please help me.....

I installed cyrus21 (common, admin, doc, etc.) and the cyrus21-imapd packages, as well as the associated and required libsasl packages....

I followed the directions per the doc README article, and instead of incoming mail going to my mailbox, the mail goes to the mailspool instead (to be read using mutt-like interface)....

I can send mail out of my squirrelmail, but nothing goes in......

Cyrus does not use the normal mail directries to store email it uses its own structure normally setup under /var/spool/imap. I am assuming you have your Mail Transport Agent delivering email to cyrus using something like LMTP. If you can go into the directory for a user and can see email being delivered there then you may need to change some settings on squirrelmail.

You may need to change the following settings in ./conf.pl

3. Folder Defaults

I have set the following Values

3.  Trash Folder                  : Trash
4.  Sent Folder                  : Sent
5.  Drafts Folder                : Drafts
6.  By default, move to trash    : true
7.  By default, move to sent      : true
8.  By default, save as draft    : true
9.  List Special Folders First    : true
10. Show Special Folders Color    : true
11. Auto Expunge                  : true
12. Default Sub. of INBOX        : true
13. Show 'Contain Sub.' Option    : true
14. Default Unseen Notify        : 2
15. Default Unseen Type          : 1
16. Auto Create Special Folders  : true
17. Folder Delete Bypasses Trash  : false
18. Enable /NoSelect folder fix  : false
If you get errors about not being able to create the folders Sent, Trash etc then you can try the following option in the imapd.conf for cyrus

ended up having to update the config files using the template changes i made.....

it works.
