cvscedega > no xlib access as root?

hello, Im trying to use "cvscedega" which I installed via "su" while loged on as a regular user. I remember having this problem with the similar "wine", and what I had to do was from the regular user window, type in "xhost localhost", but with cvscedega, that dosnt work. this is what i get:

Code:
bash-2.05b$ su
Password:
bash-2.05b# ~/bin/cvscedega /home/xrn0id/.wine/fake_windows/Program\ Files/A.I.\ Wars\ SHAREWARE/AI_Wars.exe
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

x11drv: Can't open display: :0.0
bash-2.05b#
how do I get myself added to the server?

note: cvscedega only works with root. (maby i can change it so it works with all users? and i so how?)

This is a bug in your distro, they should be using pam_xauth. But this is Gentoo, what do you expect?

You can hack around it for now by doing xhost +localhost (note the +)

It works out of the box, no hacks, on Fedora.

I use to try the cvswine version. Its not worth the hassle just to play your games. Although, I love compliling things and knowing what makes my box tic, i found it easier and less stressful to fork over 5 bucks.
