Customising X start up In Mandrake Linux 9.2

Hi folks
What should I do to make few applications to launch as soon as I login. Do I have to edit .xinitrc file or what. I am not sure but some one just told me about it. Has any one got right protocol for doing this?
Thanks

edit the .xinitrc file and just put the names in it of the apps you want to start.

Hi iceman
When I look at the .xinitrc in my home directory, it is empty. How should I proceed then?
Thanks again

If by any chance you are using KDE under Mandrake you can start graphical apps after the desktop has loaded: ie

create a symlink from the application itself and put it in

/home/your_username/.kde/Autostart

ie

ln -s /usr/bin/kspread ~/.kde/Autostart

Thanks Skyline
It works that way. How do you configure Konqueror browser to start from home page. When I set the home page it goes to home when I click the home icon, however I want it to start from home page when it launches. When it launcehs it goes to the Mandrake site. How can I get rid of mandrake menu from the Bookmark bar.
thanks
