custom desktop margins in kde

is it possible to set your own desktop margins in kde? for example, if i wanted an instance of gkrellm at say, 50 pixels wide, taking up the entire right hand side of the desktop, would it be possible to make it so that maximized windows don't cover it?

thanks in advance.
