Curl Issue

Greetings!!

OS: Ubuntu 8.0.4

Using geoiptool with curl to get the ipaddress information -- but ISP information is not listed in that database.

As an example checked http://cqcounter.com/whois/?query=122.166.82.143 which gives the complete information in browser.

Question is: IS there a way of using Curl to get this information from this cqcounter website?

Best Regards
Mahesh

If I understood your question right, you can not because on clicking this url it is asking for the some alphabets written on an image, which can not be automated.

Its designed like that to stop you using scripts with it.

Instead of banging your head against a wall trying to defeat it, why not find another whois source which doesn't block you?

If you bothered to read their website, they use random certificates to keep someone from hammering them with requests via automated tools.

If you want a script to do this, write one. Linux already HAS a whois tool that works just fine.
