Hi I am totally new to Linux and have just installed Ubuntu 9.04. I am over the moon with it so simple to install on my old laptop and so fast. I am used to runing Microsoft money for my internet banking .I was just wondering if someone could advise me on a program very similar and easy to operate. I just want to access my current accounts and download them on the internet nothing fancy

If you don't mind paying for good software

Try Moneydance, available at http://www.moneydance.com.

It is very capable, comes at a modest cost, runs in Linux, Mac and Windows, is well supported and has an active user group, and is probably a bit easier for a non-power-user than Gnucash. I've been using it since I started with Linux seven years ago.

Take a look at KMyMoney http://kmymoney2.sourceforge.net/index-home.html

It's a KDE app which I have used for a very long time. Install the 0.9.3 (development) version. The developers and other people on the mailing lists are extremely helpful.
