CUPS web interface gives 403 Forbidden error upon connecting to 127.0.0.1:631

Hello,

I'm on arch linux, and I've just got this issue, I'm trying to add a new printer on my netbook and I can't get cups to work anymore, it was working a little bit ago (maybe a few weeks ago) but now when I try it, it doesn't work. I will post any conf files you need. Thanks in advance,

Dragos

The last one is a no. I never put it in my rc.conf because I don't want it at boot. I start it manually.

EDIT: When replacing the config with the default I now get a 400 Bad Request error.

then i take it that the cups deamon is not starting
what is in the error message when you try to manually start it .
Is there anything in any of the logs after you try to manually start it

and what has changes since the time that it was working

No errors upon starting. It starts fine. The error log shows an interesting line though:
Code:

E [24/Jul/2011:09:25:03 -0400] Request from "192.168.0.101" using invalid Host: field "localhost:631"
This repeats 4 times in the logs. Not sure why. However starting the daemon there are no errors and it completes. To confirm it starts, an attempt to start it again fails and shutting it down succeeds.

"localhost" is the address of your local network services,127.0.0.1: "localhost:631" is the web address through which CUPS is controlled. In my system, "localhost" is defined in /etc/hosts.
What happens if you type

ping localhost

in a terminal? You should get repeated lines of output: break in with ctrl+C. If no output, try

ping 127.0.0.1

If the second works and not the first, then you do not have the definition.

It's in /etc/hosts. Pinging localhost directs to 127.0.0.1.

Reverted back to 403 forbidden. I'm quite frustrated. Is there a way to reset all config files to defaults?
