CUPS + printer support


I am using 2.4.20 kernel and I wanted to support for many printers on the machine which I am working. If i install CUPS is it sufficient ?
I have an application which supports PCL5 and I wanted support for many printers If i install CUPS does it serve my purpose..

I'd tell it it sufficient. Once installed you can try the web admin page of cups at http://localhost:631.

That's a pretty old kernel, the current std is 2.6.x.
