cups +localhost:631


:@ for some reason when i type localhost:631 in the titlebar of a web browser instead of getting the cups web interface it sends me off to google :@ how do i stop this? i just want to configure my printer. cheers.

also its sometimes sends me to http://p2p.cs.mu.oz.au/software/Localhost/ this is really bugging me, i have c/w that needs to be in and i cant access my printer :@

Is cups running? I am sure you should not have that problem if it is running properly.

yep cups is running ive even tried /etc/init.d/cupsd restart: still get these other bloody web sites, i wouldnt mind so much if i got a cups error, but it just sends me elseware

check the /etc/hosts file. Do you see something like:
127.0.0.1 localhost

What is the output of the command:
ping localhost

Have you installed any p2p programs.

ahr thats got it it was 127.0.0.1 localhosts, i changed it to 127.0.0.1 localhost and now it works!!!! cheers a lot!! :-D
