CUPS: Canon LBP3410 **Unable to open the initial device, quitting.

I ran into somewhat difficult to understand situation.

System
Two Debian wheezy (intel atom, 64bit) Penguins. (PenguinA, PenguinB)
Two Canon LBP3410 printers. (lpc1, lpc2) and one Brother printer (lpb)

Situation
With a driver by cannon, PenguinA can print on lpc1, lpc2.
Using same driver, however, PenguinB cannot print lpc1, nor lpc2. Both lpc1/2 print out only one line, "Unable to open the initial device, quitting." However, PenguinB can print on lpb using standard cups lpd file.
PenguinB can print onto file (ps file), which is good by gs on PenguinA/B.


My interpretation
lpc1/2 are good, because they print. PenguinA is good too.

On PenguinB, gs is good, cups is good (it can print onto lpb).
Canon driver is good, (it works on PenguinA)

I have not pointed out where problem sits.

So far
Canon driver has been reinstalled (cleanly) several times.
/var/spool/tmp looks identical on both PenguinA/B suggested by this thread.
cups does not complain at all, suggested by this thread.
I do not think this is the problem.
I have checked with/without hplip.
I have ia32 libs on both PenguinA/B.

Question
Does anybody know the way to solve this situation?

"**Unable to open the initial device, quitting" is an error that can come from Ghostscript.

So, the first step I would try would be to find what the command line is that cups is using to run Ghostscript, and try it outside the cups workflow.

If you can recreate the error outside of the cups workflow, I can probably help debug the problem.
