CrossOver Office questions

I am using Mandrake 9.2. I just installed CrossOver Office and installed it at the root with is by default /opt/cxoffice.

I installed MS Office XP and Photoshop CS, both installs said they were successful with CrossOver. Does anyone know where these files where installed? All of the Photoshop files, where were they installed? I cannot find them anywhere. I cannot get either Office XP nor Photoshop to run. I am thinking it is b/c I cannot find the files.

Thanks.

On my computer, they are located in ~/.cxoffice/dotwine/fake_windows.

I had to restart GNOME in order for the menu entries for Office, etc to show up in the gnome menu.

To run Word from the terminal, type:
/opt/cxoffice/bin/wine ~/.cxoffice/dotwine/fake_windows/Program\ Files/Microsoft\ Office/Office10/WINWORD.EXE

If the menu entries don't show up, simply create new launchers with the above command in them.

On another note, did you install the Office Assistant (Clippy) when you installed Office. I found that it crashes Office if installed, and should not be installed.

I hope this helps

Thanks Ian.

If I do not have the "Program Files" directory in ~/.cxoffice/dotwine/fake_windows/Program\\Files is it same to assume both MS Office XP and Photoshop did not install properly for me? Can I just copy my directories over from my XP Pro mounted drive?

Thanks for your help.

I doubt it -- try installing again.
You should uninstall these programs first and then try again. MS Office does have a "repair" option in the installer, but this may not be your best option.

I hope this helps
