Crossover office problem with Suse 8.2 - wants Jolian CD extentions
 

Bought crossover office, which installed OK on my SuSE 8.2 box. But when I try to use it to install Dreamweaver MX, (with the Dreamweaver MX CD in the tray) I receive an error message, saying that I need to recompile my kernal with Jolian iso9600 CD extentions. (When I ignore this warning, it fails to install dreamweaver correctly). This seems rather over the top and crossover's website is of no help. (My CD player has worked fine to date, playing my MP3 discs and music discs without a hitch).
Please help me, can anyone suggest an easier solution than a kernal recompile?

Did you compile your own kernel without Joliet file extensions? If so then you will have to recompile with Joliet file extensions enabled.

If you are using a SuSE kernel then I would be very surprised if it did not have Joliet file extentions enabled.

If your kernel does have Joliet file extensions enabled then it is possible to turn the feature off with the nojoliet parameter of the mount command (see man mount). So one thing that you could do is check /etc/fstab for nojoliet. Also make sure that nojoliet is not specified in the mount command for the CD.

Problem solved. Thanks for your help jailbait, you made me realise what the problem was. I had a file explorer open not realising it was open at the cd-rom drive. Crossover office still intalled files after giving the joliet error message, but it didn't work, as the error message warned it wouldn't.
When I realised the file eplorer was looking at teh same drive, I closed it, and tried again. This time there was no joliet error message and the install completed. The joliet error message itself was misleading. Many thanks for your help!
