Try tightVNC:

I use cygwin with X and enter the command :

X -query thelinuxhostname

into the cygwin bash prompt.

You need to enable remote X on the linux machines too. Works better than vnc for a local network and automatically adjusts for your resolution too.

Cygwin is available from

I would go with RealVNC, i use it with Windows 2000 to acces RedHat 9, and it works perfectly, with only the lag to be expected of wireless networking... http://www.realvnc.com/

If it's just for filetransfer take a look at WINSCP3.x (can't remember what version that's out now)

i'd recommend (and use) TightVNC.

RealVNC is the direct decendent of the original VNC, developed by AT&T Labs in the UK.

TightVNC is about the same thing, but performs a little better.

Either one should work, but I'd recommend TightVNC if you have the choice.
