Cross Compiling from Single Proc to SMP
 
Just curious if it would be necessary to setup a cross compiler if I am going from the same archictecture on a uni-processor to SMP. Also, is there a thourough howto on this, I have found some for sparc etc... But nothing just for cross compiling. When I am configuring a cross compiler, can I just install it, wil this replace my normal compiler? Thanks!

Does anybody know of decent docs for this? I've looked and didn't appear that there are generic cross compiling docs. For example, how do I know what value to put in as the architecture, what is the naming syntax, and is there a list of these items?
