Cron, unknown command

I created a small backup script using the rsync command and I am able to manually run it when i './ backup_script' or 'sh backup_script'. But when I set up a cron job to run my backup script it says the command rsync could not be found. I created the cronjob for root and I'm able to run the command manually as root. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Make sure the path during the cron execution includes rsync. Usually, I use all absolute paths (like /usr/bin/rsync) in scripts to be run from cron, just to alleviate confusion and bugs.
