Creating Desktop Icon
I just recently installed LimeWire as my file sharing program. I installed the program as root and everything is great when I am logged in as root (I installed the program right into the root directory). When I log in under a regular user I can run the program fine by typing the command sh runLime.sh from the Konsole after using su to get root access. However, when I create a desktop icon for the program and put that command into the execute perameter nothing happens. I tried selecting the option to run it as a different user with root as the username but after it asks me for the root password it does nothing. How can I get this to work properly when logged in as a normal user?

Install it as a regular user into the users home directory.

So, I should uninstall and reinstall in the home directory of the user?

Yep. Its not a good idea to run apps like limewire as root, if you were to download a worm it would have all of roots permissions and could/would completely root your system (so to speak), if the same thing were to happen to a user only the users data would be lost.

Thanks for the help Aussie
