Create sendmail.mc from sendmail.cf

Can any one tell me how to regenerate sendmail.mc file from sendmail.cf

well yeah... I think that the command is something like "m4 sendmail.cf > sendmail.mc" but I think I might have left a bit out. the proper command will be in the header of one or the other of those files, so just open them and take a look

the command
m4 sendmail.mc > sendmail.cf
is for generating the .cf file .. I want it in reverse...

i have a sendmail.cf in my system but no sendmail.cf ..
what is the command to recreate sendmail.mc file from sendmail.cf

Yes, it's been here 16 years, but better late than never...

No tool that I've found to do this, but I did come up with a workaround.
Create a new sendmail.cf from the default sendmail.mc but name it something different like:
m4 /etc/mail/sendmail.mc > /etc/mail/sendmail.test

Download the sendmail.cf and the sendmail.test to your workstation and use something like WinMerge to compare the two. The differences will be obvious and you should be able to determine where to make the changes in your sendmail.mc.
