I have a strange question: I want to configure a linux box that checks the incoming/outgoing mails on spam and virusses and gives the filterd mails to M$ Exchange Server. How / where can I found information about it ?

I know that I can create a mailserver with linux... but the problem is that we use Exchange to use the mail, agenda, tasks , .... and it's to hard to export all the exchange databases to linux ....

that 's why I will try first to create a linuxbox between internet and Exchange that filter all the spam and virusses !

See the link in my signature for instructions on setting up Postfix with Spamassassin as a mail gateway. It works well for us, catching about 92% of the spam. We recently added ClamAV to it and now are filtering hundreds of infected attachments per day. It doesn't care what kind of mail server it hands off to.
