cpuspeed activation

Hello, this problem occurs when booting fedora.

FATAL: Error inserting acpi_cpufreq (/lib/modules/2.6.18-1.2849.fc6/kernel/arch/i386/cpu/cpufreq/acpi-cpufreq.ko): No such device

this trouble bothers me since Ive installed fc6 for first time.

After the reistallation everything works fine, but after few day of using this trouble suddenly occurs.

Except that kernel is unable to change cpu frequency on the fly, whole computer slows extremly down.
I have solved this slowing down by reinstalling the kernel.

Anyway I need to be able to change the frequency aswell because of power saving.

I do not know how I harm the cpuspeed, that it starts not to work.

Computer: Laptop with Intel Chipset 915
CPU Pentium M 1,86GHz

Is this the actual error message???

FATAL: Error inserting acpi_cpufreq (/lib/modules/2.6.18-1.2849.fc6/kernel/arch/i386/cpu/cpufreq/acpi-cpufreq.ko): No such device

If yes, then something is not quite right. I know that this latest kernel has a problem with some Pentium M based systems. As a suggestion try booting and to the kernel line add the switch; acpi=off

If this works then (still as a suggestion) make this change the default for now.
