CPAN and RPM dependencies

I'm running RH8, perl 5.8.
I'm trying to install interchange, which requires some perl mods.
I installed a CPAN bundle w/ all the mods required. when I run the interchange RPM it cant find some of these mods and fails.

I tried installing interchange w/ no dependencies but it won't start after install. I don't know if its due to these dependencies but I went back to square 1.

when I tried to re-install the cpan bundle i got errors.
ack! I just want this to work....
