Could not connect to Kismet server 'localhost:2501'


Trying to run kismet but get errors on opensuse 11.2 64 bit

- error message I get is.
Could not connect to Kismet server 'localhost:2501'

Question:What do i need to change in the settings, the following are the default ones.

kismet rpm is

Well, I don't know anything specific about this program. But, I suggest you look at "ps ax" o/p and make sure that the program is running when you get this error. Once it is running, check if any firewall is blocking the connection and disable it. May be disabling the fw might help.
