CorelDraw gives poor TIFF with EPS
I am aware that this is not a typical Linux problem, but anyway, maybe someone knows a cure...
I am using CorelDraw 8 to make figures and diagrams, which are afterwards converted into EPS for putting them into documents with LaTex. However, whenever I build my documents and convert them into PDF files, the low resolution TIFF previews (max. 300dpi) are embedded in the PDF and look very poor. When documents are printed out the figures look excellent, as expected from EPS, but the electronic versions of the documents (PDFs) where those TIFFs are embedded are very hard to read.
Is there any way of increassing the resolution of the TIFF previews?
Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question, but maybe this helps.
Usually I am not in favor of switching application or platform to solve a simple problem. The cost is high, and you replace some known bugs with a number of unknown bugs.
But since you are a Linux user already, you might consider to do everything on the Linux platform. Inkscape is a powerful and worthy replacement for CorelDraw. It is a bit unusual at the start, but the learning curve is not steep.
