Copying the .config to a 3.5 floppy?

I just downloaded Slackware 9.1 and i am going to give it a shot, but i dont want to do the .config over again. Can i copy this hidden file to a 3.5 and then just copy back to into slackware? I am not sure on how do do so if i am able too

I see no reason why you can't do this, but you are going to have to compile a kernel to get the stuff in the .config working. Just copying the .config back to a new install isn't going to do anything. The good news is that it would be easy. Just be sure to install a kernel source, either from your Slack CD or from kernel.org and when you make menuconfig or make xconfig, use the option to import the config from a file. Just point to your floppy drive and read in that config. Then save, exit and compile.
