you don't need to mount the cd to make an iso. It is an IMAGE, it is and AUDIO CD. If you can not read it at all, then the CD-ROM might be bad or something.

hi

but the fact that i can't read it at all, is just the copy protection (on the box there is a label with warning that you can't read it in normal CD-rom drives)
So my question is just how i can crack that copy protection

If the label on the box says 'you can't read it in normal CD-rom drives' what do you expect. No OS will be able to access it.

You'll have to find a non-normal CD-rom drive that can read it.

You have to do some work yourself. If you search at Google with the name of your CD and some proper search words you will get a clue what protection is used. A question as general as yours cannot get a right answer. There are different copy protections out there. It's like saying "I'm sick, so please how can I get healthy again?"

I think it is actually possible to PLAY AND RIP it in Windows.

I tried a copy protected CD in Windows a while ago, and when inserted, it installed a new media player (!) that played the CD (of course Windows only). I was actually able to rip the CD with Windows Media Player, but not with some other program.

Copy protection is crap. It locks people into one OS.
