Here is a solution I found on techsmith's feedback:
Now I easily get MP4, MOV, OGV, AVI, etc from SWF after I read an anticle which informs me what's SWF format and how to decode SWF to MP4, MOV, AVI, etc and encode MP4 to SWF, MOV to SWF, AVI to SWF, etc at Faasoft "SWF to MP4 Converter - Easily Convert SWF to MP4 on Windows and Mac". Love it

not sure why you ressurected this old thread. the solution was posted on the first response on 09-26-07 and it uses a native linux solution which would be quick and easy.
