Convert *.asf to *.mp3
 

Hi.
Is there an app. that will convert an .asf (streaming audio) to .mp3.

I'd like to listen to my recorded program on my USB/flash-mp3 player.
Also, if there's an app. that will 'split' the .mp3 into 3minute segments - that'd be great
too .

xmms has a diskwriter plugin that can help you: convert asf to wav and then to mp3, using bladeenc or lame. Just call xmms preferences and choose diskwriter plugin as audio output.
To split mp3 files you can use audacity. But first they have to be converted to wav. That's not difficult, though.
