So. I am new to Mandrake, and linux as a whole. I downloaded the Iso's for mandrake 9.2 and installed it and updated everything under the sun. after I restarted the first time, I lost almost everything in my start menu, and from the welcome window, i get this message when i click on config....

Unable to run the command specified. The file or directory file:/usr/share/applnk-mdk/Configuration/Configure your computer.desktop does not exist

I am just starting out, so I really dont have a clue as to how to fix both of these problems. ANyone have an idea? I would really really appreciate it

There is a thread named Lost Shortcuts in the Mandrake forum
which should cure your problem. I know, I was the poster of that thread and it fixed my problem.

is the command you are looking for
