Control a Networked windows PC from linux?

I'm looking for a method/software that would let me control a computer running windows xp from my Suse box? I'm forced to route my internet through a windows box due to proprietary control software needed to connect...

Searching google at the moment but not finding much.

Something like PcAnywhere would be great... (And before someone says it I saw the info on PcAnywhere working with linux now, but it only controls linux, it doesn't do the opposite which is what I need)

vnc should do you fine, have you tried that? if pcAnywhere *would* suffice, then that should too.

as an aside mate, people don't come to LQ to be told to RTFM or such like. people come here for basic simple help. To me this is a pretty newbie question, but i wouldn't just send you to google or anything. to be honest, i could pick a lot of holes in your post here, but (i assume) i know what you mean, so it's ok. people volunteer to help people at LQ on their own time, so it seems odd that you frequently seem to be impatient with people, when you're under no obligation to help them in the first place. As moderators, we're not whining, just raising concerns. cheers.

Try WinVNC (http://www.realvnc.com) - Install the WinVNC server on the WinXP box, and then the Linux VNC client on your Suse box. Works like a charm for me :)

There are also various Remote Desktop / Terminal Service clients for Linux - I use them all the time.

Vnc seems to be working good :)
