consolehelper corrupted

Hi.
I recently installed xcdroast 0.98alpha13, it works just fine. However, I noticed after doing so that any menu item which requires authentication e.g. adjusting date and time, viewing system logs, changing printer settings etc now launches xcdroast instead of the intended application. Even the halt system command from Menu->Log Out->Reboot.

I spoke to the author of xcdroast and he assured me that this was not directly due to the installtion of xcdroast.

I noticed that the /usr/bin/xcdroast sym link was sym linked to /usr/bin/consolehelper, I undid this but the problem still exists.

All or any help would be much appreciated - Ican't go through another install and config for my system.

Regards, Alan
