Console web browser?

I know about lynx but I'm looking for more not just text based but would be pretty good at images and logon/off's. I just wanted to know if there was a console web browser I could start from the CLI with out having X running?
-
Explanation: When I have linux boot I log in at the CLI then if I want I can get to KDE running startx. Well if I wanted to just browse the internet instead of starting X and loading firefox. I wanted to know if there was a stand-alone web browser that I could start from the CLI?

Thanks,
Kyle

There are some very good text browsers around: w3m and elinks come to my mind. Links has also a graphics mode if you start it with -g. But it will only work if you use framebuffer (most distros enable it by default nowadays) or svgalib (I don't recommend it).
