Console unreadable file name

I have installed FC5 on my vmware box.

But I found all japanese or chinese file name is un-readable.

# more /etc/sysconfig/i18n
LANG="en_US.UTF-8"
SYSFONT="latarcyrheb-sun16"

I have tried to export LANG=ja_JP.eucJP. But ls command also shows
the Japanese or Chinese file name is un-readable.

But in my another FC3 box, everything is OK.

I wonder whether the un-eadable is related to my vmware environment. Pls help.
