Console based + POP3 NOT using fetchmail.

Anyone know of a console based email client that using pop3 for mail retrieval/sending instead of fetchmail?

Fetchmail, doesnt work well for me, because the way my ISP
(ATTBI) is setup i don't have a true host name.

When I add one to /etc/hosts, i can config fetchmail, but then
sendmail dies.

bleah.

So I want somthign like MUTT, thats console but will use POP3 for sending and retrieving...

Any ideas?

Take a look at http://www.qcc.ca/~charlesc/software/getmail-2.0/ it performs a similar function to fetchmail but bypasses the MTA

Actually no dice, because MUTT, PINE etc still uses sendmail. I'm looking for somthing console based that
can send/retrieve via pop3.

Give yourself a hostname.. (most distros give you one by default. For example, in Slackware it's darkstar). then make sure that it is included an an alias in /etc/hosts for 127.0.0.1 (Your not really supposed to do this, but it works). Sendmail will then start up properly.
