Here's an odd question, but...does anyone have any suggestions for good console-based instant messenger software (AIM, yahoo, etc)? By console, of course, I mean not using X. I found one called centericq, at http://konst.org.ua/centericq, which seems a little twitchy but seems to do the job. But I haven't gotten too deep into it, and I was wondering if there is a standard one I'm missing. Thanks!
I've used one, and it was terrible. Probably just that specific one, however it left a bad taste in my mouth for terminal based messenger clients. If you are interested, check out www.freshmeat.net you can sort by environment, just weed out the X clients and you should be left with console based ones
If you want a MSN console based IM program you can always go with LMME. http://sourceforge.net/projects/lmme
Its outdated or hasn't been updated lately but when I used it, it worked fine with no problems.
