Connection Monitor
I'm looking for a linux version of Windows connection monitor, the standard one that appears beside the clock when you connect.
I connect to the 'net using ADSL, all connections done at boot. Does anybody know of package that would do me? Thanks in advance, Andy. |
if you mean the little computer that lights up blue when there's network traffic then icewm comes with one, i would guess both kde and gnome have one but i dont use either so i dont know.

I'd thought about that but I don't know if they will display the status/usage for a connection not setup through them.
I might be totally wrong, I'll check when I get home from work. |
hm...I'm not entirely sure what you're looking for. If you're looking to monitor network traffic, then you could just watch your switch....or indeed, you could use something like firestarter on a very liberal firewall that will show up whenever there's traffic on the network...[although if you've got a switch rather than a hub, you'll only see network traffic that is intended for you]
