Connecting to Mysql using PHP

I am using a php program that seems to work. I have tried everything to get it to work and send the data to mysql but when I send it. The input fields become blank and it executes my php script and tells me that is was entered but when I check the mysq database it is not there. Is there something special that I have to do to fedora to get php to talk to mysql.
Thanks for any help.

Try adding die statelments to your mysql commands so you can see where the script is failing.
