connecting to cvs with wincvs

I have a cvs server running on rh. cvs is running and I can checkout, etc fine from the server itself.

I am trying to use WinCVS on a windows machine to connect, but it doesn't seem to be working. I've set the preferences under login to the correct info and click "Login". It asks me for the password which I think it accepts cause it just returns me to the main WinCVS screen again. But I can't seem to checkout any modules. It will not list them.

when I try to connect the cvs server through the command line on the windows box, after it prompts me for the password, it says:

cvs [login aborted]: /cvs: no such repository

but that is where the repository is.

What may be wrong?

thanks

I have found WinCVS to be more of a hazzle than helpful, so I reverted to good old commandline CVS. Having a graphical user interface can actually often be more confusing than a simple CLI where you know what to type.

I have Cygwin installed on the Windows boxes (to provide CVS and a host of other things) and it works fine, it provides a lot of the tools I miss from Linux.
