Connecting remotely to VirtualBox display - how to send ctrl-alt-del?
My head is spinning after a morning playing with the Remote Display feature of VirtualBox.
I have a Windows 7 guest in a VBox on a CentOS 6 host. I am connecting remotely from an OS X 10.6 machine. I realize there are multiple ways I can connect to the VM on the Linux host. I have settled on the following for reasons of security. ssh -Y <user>@<linux_box> rdesktop -u <user> -p <password> 127.0.0.1:3389 This way everything is encrypted over ssh and passwords are safe. Works perfectly, BUT if the guest VM is logged out, how do I send ctrl-alt-del from the Mac? I would use the native OSX Microsoft RDC client. It maps ctrl-option-del to the PC counterpart. But I have to supply the LINUX login credentials in Preferences to connect to the VM, and I’m unsure of the security of my linux credentials. |
Try control alt end keys.Be sure the focus is in the panel.
Some of the controls for remotes can be brought forward too and selected. Not sure what you see. |
