Thought I had a pretty good handle on this, but I cannot get things working.

Irssi is working well, as is pidgin. For pidgin this is what the account screen reads:

Basic Tab

Protocol: IRC
Username: whatever
Server: IP address that Irssi is on
Password: (none)

Advanced Tab

Port: 3333 (as configured under irssi)

Proxy Tab

Proxy Type: Use Global Proxy Settings (none)



Under irssi I can see:

02:16 -!- Irssi: Proxy: Client connected from ::ffff:12.345.67.89
02:16 -!- Irssi: Proxy: Client disconnected from ::ffff:12.345.67.89

Pidgin says that the server refused the connection.

I can see irssi listening on port 3333, so what gives?

Tried adding my current IP to hosts.allow, no effect.

I thought maybe it had to do with it only accepting ipv6. under netstat it lists tcp6 only. I tried binding it to the servers ipv4 address with no luck. (see this bug http://bugs.irssi.org/index.php?do=d...ct=5&pagenum=4)

Not sure what else to try?

Might help if you have the password too.
