conky xft fonts

Hey guys I am trying to get my artwiz fonts to work on my ubuntu breezy box but when i run conky i get the output.

Conky: Xft not enabled
even though in the .conkyrc file i have

use_xft yes
does anyone know why this is?

do you have the freetype pkg installed..........??
