Friends I'm referring to Conky, the system monitor +
Conky configuration settings Manual and HTML list a variable called "pop3", and with it several arguments to use. I can not find one example of it's use anywhere, and there are thousands of postings about Conky configuration settings.
Can anyone offer any examples of "pop3" use in conky?
There are a couple links and hints of how this is used, on the page linked above. The last post in that thread shows how to put it in the config file. (Note that the posts there are dated 2007, so there are likely much newer pages/sites around too.)
Also check the man page if you haven't - there may be an example in there.
I have been to the sites you provided and hundreds more, including all the docs at SourceForge. Been through hundreds of .conkyrc files and found no mention or use of this variable. Even a close look at the type font for it on SF's config_settings.html page makes it look like it may have been entered as an afterthought. Almost like 'well here's this variable, and here's some arguments for it, and as soon as we find a use for it we'll activate it'. It does nothing.
