Read a lot then! And be prepared for a lot of head scratching!

Basically, check out gKrellM for the part on the left showing disk activity, network activity, date / time, mail, etc; fbdesk for the icons, though i'm not a fan; icons on the menu by manually editing your menu file; transparent terminals for the processes in the background.

There's tons of stuff on these forums, just do a search for fluxbox. There are also quite a few answers and quick tutorials, certainly on transparent terminals, menu icons, and desktop icons.

I've had a play with FreeSBIE and I love fluxbox so I can tell you what is going on with that setup anyway :)

Those stats in the top right is a program called torsmo, however it isn't being developed anymore but someone created a program called conky which does the exact same thing. The icons are done by a program called idesk, used to be good but it's under a new developer these days and I'm not a fan of the way he's going. That is just a personal opinion though. The program on the left is gkrellm and the fluxbox theme in called Sn33z :)

Enough info for you? What do you think of my current fluxbox setup?
