Okay, I'm lost. I have a email server running RH9. I currently am using Sendmail as my MTA. I'm using the Milter version of Vexira for anti-virus protection. I need to get spamassassin up and running as we are getting spammed (mostly after having visited a windoze tech support site). This is coming from virus writers trying to dump a worm on us. Luckily, Vexira catches it and won't let it through. But I would like to stop it from getting that far. I assume that SpamAssassin would do that. I have posted this question before but was referred to a document to set it up on a Sun machine. I looked at it and was more confused than usual. Can someone please direct me to a good source for configuring and getting it up and running where it actually checks everything? I have checked and ps aux says that I have spamd running, but that is about all I can tell you. I have found a reference at Sourceforge that gives instructions on how to do this for RH7 but I'm not sure that would do me much good as it also describes downloading and doing all the makefiles, etc. I think I have everything loaded (I believe that SpamAssassin came as a default RPM with RH9) but I need to get it going.
