Configure launcher to maximize window

Is it possible to configure a program launcher to always open the program window maximized? This can be done to a Windoze shortcut however, I do not see any configuration options on the Ubuntu/Gnome launcher. The program in question is Gnome-commander. Sometimes it opens maximized and other times almost full screen but partly off the screen. Quite annoying.

TIA,

Ken

This can be done in KDE not sure if it can be done in GNOME. Anyways try clicking the button on the top left of the window and go to advanced. Look for special window settings. Here you can configure the window to open how you want it to, and to be placed where you want it to be on every startup. If you find it doesn't retain your settings, you can force it to remember them.

Thanks Nexus. There are no advanced features in GNOME. I think Ubuntu 8.04 fixes this issue, at least I have started gnome-commander several times and it was always maximized. However, 8.04 broke other things so I am staying at 7.10 for a while as I figure out how to unbreak the 8.04 issues.

Ken
