configure error - C compiler cannot create executables
I'm trying to install a program and am new at this. Can anyone help?
This is what I'm getting when typing ./configure: root@ubuntu:/home/lobster/Desktop/xvidcap-1.1.3# ./configure checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c checking whether build environment is sane... yes checking for gawk... gawk checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes checking for gcc... gcc checking for C compiler default output... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables See `config.log' for more details. |
What does config.log say? Do you have the packages to compile software installed? What Distro?
