This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

My notebook is using intel core 2 duo T6400 CPU and 2GB Ram,
when I am playing MP3 with Amarok and at the same time running Firefox, the computer tends to hang and slow in response to open new website.
IS it due to my hardware?
As far as I can see from the results, no process is consuming much CPU resources. Maybe the situation you mention is variable and there is not always a high level of utilization.
Does this happen only with those applications opened? Watching some video on internet? A known software that consumes lot of CPU resources is the flashplayer plugin for Firefox. Try isolating the problem by opening few applications to see if the problem persists.
it just hanged when amarok and Seamonkey/firefox opened at the same time, when i tried to open webpages, the webpages do not open at once, and the browser color turns grey and does not respond to mouse click. It will hanged for 1-2 minutes, then back to normal, after a while, hanged again, during this time, the amarok still playing music and the sound is smooth and does not halt intermittently.
i not sure why? This happened on my notebook only, but not on my desktop where I install Ubuntu Ultimate, my notebooks is using MACubuntu, basically the same linux kernel.
